Winter is a great opportunity to go skiing or snowboarding. Try the slopes or even snorkel in waters of Queensland's Great Barrier Reef. North Queensland offers great weather for swimming in the seas or even going sailing. Winter offers a time to discover migrating whales or to take a dive with some other types of marine life. After enjoying these energetic activities, get cozy next to a blazing fire and relax.

In the western part of Australia, there is no chance of seeing dull landscapes during winter. Wildflowers abound across the state encouraging daily walks to take photos for a photo album. Visit Ningaloo Reef to swim with whale sharks or snorkel with tropical fish. Even though the winter temperatures are around 25 degrees, someone can still enjoy the water in this area.

Winter in Australia offers many locations to see snow-capped mountains and ski runs. Winter activities can include tobogganing or sledding down beautiful mountains. Slopes are available to meet any person's ability whether they are an experienced skier or a novice to skiing. Maybe even participating in a snowball fight might be possible before leaving the slopes in Australia.

In the south part of Australia, take a four-wheel drive across a desert for an awesome adventure. Take plenty of supplies, and then visit Witjira National Park to relax in a natural spring. The winter is the best time for touring the Simpson Desert due to the heat during the summer.
