The 'budget' airline carriers have increased their prices relating to your carry:

Ryanair's now £20 each way (e/w) per bag. Ryanair's just hiked the cost of checking in bags for July/August flights to £20 e/w rather than £15 (if not pre-booked it's £40). See Ryanair baggage hike news.

Easyjet's doubled airport bag fee to £18 e/w. Last summer, Easyjet charged £8 per bag e/w to stow luggage. Now it's £9 if you pre-book and £18 if you don't, plus it's added £1 to credit card booking fees.

Flybe card & luggage fees increase. Flybe's credit card charge is now £9 per person return (was £7). Baggage fees are now also up.

This is no fun. I am reluctant to even bother checking flights with these cheap carriers these days. BA sometimes have good deals, less often also virgin but you can fly to nicer locations and for me the cheap airlines have stifled the market they captured so easily. Their long term game was of course to up their prices and have their brand in place, but they are in my eyes causing its destruction. And it is far from a brand that we trust.
