I awakened at the crack of dawn Rachel had kept us up late so I didn't sleep much, but I felt pretty good.  For the day or so before leaving on this trip, I had been worried because I was starting to feel sick.  That feeling was beginning to go away.

After spending some time in the restaurant in the very early morning I went back up to the room.  We had spent the night at the Hotel Mono Azul (The Blue Monkey).  I thought the hotel was pretty middle of the road.  It was maybe a little rough around the edges, but seemed clean and was less expensive than many other hotels on the road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio.  Our view was of a concrete wall behind our room, but the restaurant area was ok for hanging out.  The problem was that it was so close to the main road.  Now travelling with Rachel, Bree and I don't want her going anywhere near traffic.  If Rach were so inclined, it would only have taken a few seconds for her to get from the dining area to the middle of the street.
