TANTATIVE PROGRAMME
Day1: Arrival at Delhi-Arriving early morning or late night, transfer & rest in pre booked hotel.
Day2: Visit and free shopping at Delhi, overnight at hotel
Day 3: Depart for Agra by private vehicle. Visit the inevitable Taj Mahal and Red Fort. Drive to Bharatpur
and visit Kevla deo national Park, Overnight at hotel in Bharatpur
Day 4: Morning drive to Alwar (Mewat - 110 km) and visit the fort “Bala Kila”, Moosi Maharani ki Chatari
& lake Siliserh late afternoon drive to a village of Mewat where we dine and spend the night in a
havelis/farm with the locals.
Day 5 & 6: Living in 2 remote villages of Mewat. With these farmers and their families whom we share
the everyday, we find that their vision of rural India, their activities, and the surrounding countryside on
foot or by camel. Nights and meals Homestay in a haveli, then huts dried plant ( "juphas" ), typical of
farms in the region.
Day 7: Drive to Jaipur, the Pink City, capital of Rajasthan. Visit the city and its architectural wonders
(including the famous Hawa Mahal ", the" Palace of Winds "). Excursion to Amber Fort and visit the free
lanes of the old town (market, tinkers, craftsmen). Meal in town and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Morning drive to Nawalgarh (Shekhawati - 150 km) and its tens of havelis, ancient palaces with
colorful frescoes depicting episodes warriors and hours of glorious Rajasthan. Meet the Foundation
which supports environmental programs (organic farming, vermiculture, waste recycling, renewable
energy ...), development assistance to farmers of Shekhawati (micro, computer training, etc..) and
preventive health. Visits and havelis, late afternoon drive to a village of Shekhawati where we dine and
spend the night in a haveli, with the locals.
Day 9& 10: Living in 2 remote villages of Shekhawati. With these farmers and their families whom we
share the everyday, we find that their vision of rural India, their activities, and the surrounding
Countryside on foot or by camel. Nights and meals Homestay in a haveli, then huts dried plant
( "juphas" ), typical of farms in the region.
Day 11: Early morning departure to Bikaner (200 km). Visit the Fort richly decorated. Meet the
Foundation , an NGO actively involved with local communities in the schooling of children (especially
girls), women's, health care in isolated environments, as well as in supporting the manufacture and
distribution of craft Local. After lunch, drive to the villages of the Thar Desert. Dinner "family", then
night homestay in traditional huts of mud and branches ( "jophras" ).
Day 12, 13 & 14: Daily activities with the residents of these hamlets of adobe
decorated "Alpana" or "manldana" , amazing drawings and ephemera of lime diluted adorning walls and
floors. Initiation visits and workshops in weaving and other crafts. On-site meetings with women's
groups ( "self-help groups" ) active in the social sphere, education, and health. Nights in rural villages in
the desert.
Day 15: Return route to Jaipur and Delhi. Depending on the time of arrival in Delhi, leisure and shopping
before returning to the airport late at night.
