The kids were so excited to see real gunfighters that's all they talked about for weeks afterward. I had to immediately go out and buy them little toy guns and holsters! I have to admit my husband and I learned a thing or two also. The atmosphere was authentic and the employees were extremely friendly and quite knowledgeable. It was more than we expected and I would recommend this for a fun family vacation spot. The bathrooms in the main building and rooms were kept very clean (bathrooms in the annex were less so), though there was a smell of mould and damp in the corridors. The place was reasonably secure - the exterior doors have a code, giving you 24-hour access, and rooms have individual locked doors and keys. We asked for a 3-bed private room and got a 4-bed and then a 5-bed dorm to ourselves; the 5-bed room was large, with a desk and a couple of chairs. A computer with internet access and a cable to plug your laptop into is provided in the common room for free (Internet access was super fast). Breakfast is provided - a selection of cereals, tea, a few condiments. Milk and basic supplies are available for purchase. The single male shower (see below) was clean and hot. There's a large sci-fi book collection to read or swap. A large inflatable Dalek is available. Disliked: The property is split into a main building and an annex, with a few more rooms. Unfortunately, the annex has no showers as I understand there's currently renovations under way - there's only one shower for each gender, located in the main building. This means if your room is in the annex you're walking outside through the rain each morning. The annex does however have a couple of sinks and toilets. These toilets were very much a construction zone, and didn't feel all that clean. The Karst region is a big contrast to Bled and the local guide made the trip very interesting with a chance to look at how the region has developed with a visit to a preserved old village. As this is the home of a very famous horse breed then if you like horses it is a must. It is well located secure sound wifi, all the services you need and great staff. An awesome bar with a great selection of Argentine beers and of course all the other usual. Some rooms better than others. I really like the Tango class and Yoga class which were for free both bi weekly! An excellent reason to stay here alone. If I had to say negatives : I was moved once which was a pain (why do you hostels do this ?) and the only other complaint was that the bathroom ran out of hand soap ! So really splitting hairs here it's so good.
