The kids were so excited to see real gunfighters that's all they talked about for weeks afterward. I had to immediately go out and buy them little toy guns and holsters! Not to mention they learned a lot about the gun fighters of the past and the history behind the location without realizing they were learning anything. They were enthralled the whole time. I have to admit my husband and I learned a thing or two also. The atmosphere was authentic and the employees were extremely friendly and quite knowledgeable. It was more than we expected and I would recommend this for a fun family vacation spot. I enjoyed my stay on Phi Phi though the weather was not great there was plenty to do and had some good diving. I enjoyed the vibe of the party in pp more than ko phangan this time round but that's a one off and not maybe the normal evening. The beach is quite nice though you may have dogs pis$ing on your beach towel or condoms on the beach to contend with so it looks like a great beach but in fact isn't the best. For example there is no snorkelling as its just cloudy and such a gentle slope. Amazingly the sand is so white and powdery that it sticks to everything and gets everywhere. The above is not to say that Had Rin is bad and if you are young perhaps stay here or in ban tai. Tommy's resort is good but expensive unless you are flashpacking it. But all that said ko phangan as an island is great don't waste too much time in ko samui !
