Bodrum is a lovely holiday town for all age groups. There is a great choice of places to eat and drink with a good range of evening entertainment including the famous Halicarnassus disco/club. Along the coast is a fine selection of beaches with safe swimming in clear aquamarine seas.
The delightful holiday town of Bodrum has something to offer holiday makers of all ages. The resort will apeal to anybody that wants to have a good time. With days spent by the pool or on one of the many beaches along the coast and then lively evenings offer a great choice of cafes, restaurants and bars for all age goups. The town has been a destination since the early sixties and for good reason. The dazzling whitewashed houses draped in bright pink and purple bouganvilea, windy narrow streets with many interesting shops selling all kinds of gifts to take back for friends, family or a little treat for yourself. From Bodrum harbour it is possible to take a day boat trip along the beautiful coastline, swim in clear aquamarine seas and spend time on some lovely small bays. This will normally include a picnic or bbq lunch, a lovely day out and good value. Take a dolmus [ local bus transport ] along the Bodrum peninsula, here you may visit some delightful small bays or a number of local villages that will show another side of Turkish life. Search out a good local restaurant, good quality Turkish meze is a treat and well worth asking around to find the best places. Along the coast the once small holiday resort of Gumbet has now become an extension of Bodrum. No longer a tranquil option, but still a good choice if you want a beach on your doorstep and just a short hop to the centre of Bodrum. For a quieter option, maybe Torba could be the ideal place. Lovely small bay with a sand and shingle beach. Some good quality restaurants and a selection of chilled-out bars playing Ibiza style sounds. Over the last few years some quality hotels have been built along the Bodrum coast. Family resorts, boutique hotels and many All-Inclusive hotels of various star ratings can be found at very competative rates.
