Oxford a city well renowned for its Oxford University Colleges is also an architectural delight. You can appreciate Oxford in just a few hours if that's all you have time for but a full day should be spared for such famous buildings as the Carfax Tower, Christ Church College or Sheldonian Theatre to name a few. Broad street is a fantastically diverse architectural street more than any in the UK for example Trinity College. Oxford also has remains of a castle and moat, city walls. In summer take a punt on the river Cherwell where it meets the Thames these days called the Issis from latin Tamesis !

There are some nice parks and rivers also and a pleasant walk exists from Christ Church College round to Magdalen Bridge.

Don't forget where Alice in Wonderland bought her sweets at Alice's shop on St Aldates road though the rabbit hole is lost.
