As it turns out, this small town is not only known for picturesque waterfalls but also is the capital of Base Jumping, which involves a free fall from cliffs wearing a special suit. Unfortunately, it is one of the most dangerous extreme sports. During our walk through lovely main streets, we may have the chance to see them in action. Next we will have a little CHEESE and CHOCOLATE DEGUSTATION enjoying a beautiful views. Next we will take a 5min bus ride to Trümmelbachfalle. This place is a series of impressive waterfalls inside the mountain caves (UNESCO Heritage), where water from melting glaciers flows powerfully through rock crevices at a capacity of 20,000 l/sec - 5,300 gallons/sec. (CLOSED IN WINTER, we will do more sightseeing instead) The entire trip will allow us to discover Lauterbrunnen from two perspectives – one with idyllic farms, meadows, and wooden houses – but also with impressive forces of nature and community prioritizing extreme sports while living their dream.

Due to construction work on the Grütschalp gondola from April 13 to July 10, 2026, the itinerary of this tour will be slightly adjusted. The hike will instead start and end in Mürren. This change does not affect the overall experience — guests will still enjoy the same breathtaking views and highlights of the region. The tour remains fully guided and maintains the same quality and difficulty level as described. Experience one of the most iconic and scenic walks in the Swiss Alps on this beautiful hike from Grütschalp to Mürren. Starting in the famous village of Lauterbrunnen, we take a short gondola ride up the mountainside and begin our hike along a mountain view trail overlooking the valley of 72 waterfalls. Along the way, we will have beautiful views on famous Lauterbrunnen valley, Jungfrau, Mürren, Schiltorn (from old James Bond movie) and learn about it, so you will get bunch of tips what to do in next days of your stay. However, views and informative aspect of the tour are not everything - we will pass trust shop on local farm, where we will have opportunity to buy ice cream, cheese and cold cuts directly from the farmer.
