Every tour lasts up to four(4) hours and begins on the calm waters of Monkey Beach in Misahualli, the Ecuadorian Amazon. We always hire a boat to float alongside us, so some passengers get on and off the boat, SUP paddle a bit, practice, do yoga, swim, get back in the boat, take photos, explore secluded beaches, paddle some more, etc. From Monkey Beach we will float on the Misahualli River along gentle easy water to the Napo River, past secluded beaches, to native Kichwa villages such as Awarina and Shipati where many of our friends live. Optional activies along the route include tiny class 1 rapids, wildlife-viewing such as monkeys and birds, visiting native villages and seeing exotic pets, fossil hunting, and even a chance to pan for gold. When we stop on a secluded beach, one person can pan for gold while others are hunting for fossils, while another sits on the boat eating snacks. This is a very easy laid-back tour with plenty of options for varied fitness levels and ages.
