This is an authentic experience exploring an abandoned mine, with various optional challenges; involving climbing, an abseil, a tyrolean (short zipline) and a short boat crossing. There isn't anything artificial about this trip with the addition of safety anchors being the only changes you'll find in the mine, where necessary, as such, it is most similar to caving with the only lights being those on your headtorches (provided). This is the perfect family adventure, Stag/Hen do activity and couple challenge.

The hike will be delivered by a fully qualified mountain leader who will know a great deal about both Snowdon and Snowdonia and of course the mountains of Wales in general. They will describe what you are seeing and tell you a few tall tales along the way... During the months of May to September there is a cafe near the summit of this highest mountain in Wales, but do not depend on this for sustenance. If you're local or visiting North Wales and are looking for something a bit different to do. Then you can now book your own personal photographer. Please message me for a full size, extended portfolio. These photoshoots are not your typical high maintenance, exotic beach and beauty shots. If anything, a bit of normality and even mud is encouraged! I keep things super casual and approachable for everyone. That's why my shoots are typically centred around a dog walk but if you don't have a dog, don't worry. The idea is we all go for a walk together and I run around getting those beautiful candid photos of your pets, your family and friends. Exactly where we go is flexible. There's an abundance of walks here in and around Betws, long and short, so I'm happy to discuss a route before we meet up. That said, I must insist, I am NOT a professional mountain guide, so please don't pitch the north face of Tryfan when you have zero equipment or experience in the hills.

Betws-y-Coed is Britain’s first artists’ colony, nestled at the entrance to Snowdonia National Park. On this self-guided walking tour, you’ll stroll down this village’s charming streets, riverside paths, and historic bridges to find out how this woodland paradise inspired generations of landscape painters. The tour starts at the historic Betws-y-Coed Railway Station. As you explore this picturesque settlement – meaning “prayer house in the woods“ – you’ll find out how painter David Cox established Britain’s first art colony here in 1844, forever changing the Welsh village’s fortunes. Other landscape artists, unable to travel to Europe during the Napoleonic Wars, soon discovered its dramatic beauty and, as railways brought Victorian tourists, the once-peaceful artist haven evolved into the gateway to Snowdonia we know today.

Our Mountain Leader guide will deliver this true mountain day, 14km and 900m of ascent, to the summit of this world-renowned mountain by a lesser-known path. A truly amazing mountaineering experience that is, with the help of the guide, available to novices through to old-time adventurers alike. With Snowdon being popular its paths can become very crowded indeed. However, the path we will take for the ascent only ever has a handful of walkers and midweek we'll have it to ourselves! This is remarkable as Snowdon is quite rightly the most visited mountain peak in the UK. This allows our tour to the summit of Snowdon to be a relaxed event with a true flavour of isolation. The descent is 'off piste' and follows the escarpment edge, with, weather permitting, dramatic views straight down into the valley below and across to the slate town of Llanberis.
