The town of Cambridge has been a seat for learning for many centuries. Over the years of learning, Cambridge town has witnessed the greatest minds of the world taking shape. The alumnus list of Cambridge University includes the likes of Newton, Darwin, Milton and along with modern pioneers of knowledge like Charles Babbage, E M Forster and Stephen Hawking. Cambridge has been the place where Watson & Crick first interpreted the double helix model of the DNA. The grandiose Roman architecture of the University buildings emanates a sublime aura of knowledge, which combined with the romanticism of the bicycle lanes and the punting in the backwaters of the University, signifies a simplistic character that has its feet on the ground while exploring the uppermost echelons of knowledge.

Mijas is just a few kilometres along the coast from the city of Malaga giving easy access to the airport. The Costa Del Sol has a fantastice year round climate with long sun hours and very mild winters. The village of Mijas is a good choice if your visiting this coastline as it offers a more relaxed traditional experience than some of the more tourist style resorts. The village itself has plenty to offer, lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants for every budget. A wide selection of accommodation options including apartments to top class 5 star hotels all of which are available year round. The coast is just three kilometres from Mijas and the many holiday towns including the famous resort of Marbella are all within easy access. The area has many sporting possibilities and is well known as a Golfers paradise. Mijas has managed to maintain an atmosphere of a small Spanish pueblo even though it has undergone many changes with moderern day tourism now being the main source of income for the area.

Lindos - Great beaches, a delightful village and a wonderful choice of accommodation.
Lindos is a lovely vilage made up of whitewashed cubic houses nestled on a hillside overlooking two beautiful sandy bays. Spend some time exploring the narrow streets where you'll find numerous shops, cafes and restaurants dotted all around the village. The main beach has all the usual tourist facilities including sun beds, parasols and small boats for hire. A few beach bars and restaurants that will look after you throughout the day. Check out the smaller St.Paul's Bay hidden on the backside of Lindos. Lovely beach which is normally quieter and perfect to just chill out. During the evening enjoy a drink in one of the many bars before searching out a restaurant for a relaxing meal. Lindos has a fantastic choice of restaurants many offering roof top terraces with views across the village of Lindos. After dinner try one of the many chilled out bars playing cool sounds, then maybe try one of the club/disco's to finnish the night off. Lindos is what most people imagine a greek village to be and offers the visitor everything needed to make a great holiday. Lindos manages to be both relaxing and lively at the same time. Ideal holiday destination for couples, singles and families who are looking for a greek holiday with real Greek Island atmosphere.

The crown jewel of St. John's fabled North Shore, nestled within the boundaries of the Virgin Islands National Park, in the exclusive beach enclave of Lower Peter Bay. The Presidio is perched on a small peninsula with Cinnamon Bay to the east, and world-renowned Trunk Bay to the west. A pristine coral reef rings the base of the property, providing excellent diving and snorkeling. The sugar white sand beach of Peter Bay is one minute away via a private, stone-paved beach path, accessed directly from the Presidio. It's a short, easy wade over to the unspoiled beach of neighboring Little Cinnamon Bay, and then a quick walk from there to the wide open beaches of Cinnamon Bay. Or take an exciting snorkel from the Presidio directly to Trunk Bay over pristine Windswept Reef. Enjoy 4 superb National Park beaches.
Surrounded on 3 sides by crystal clear Caribbean waters, cooled by gentle trade winds, the Presidio's dramatic location offers incomparable views, and incomparable serenity. Drawing on the architectural traditions of the island's historic Danish sugar mills, the Presidio is constructed entirely of native stone and brick, with rich mahogany and bronze accents. The property is beautifully landscaped and has its own private electronic gate. A wide, scenic perimeter path around the entire compound makes for an ideal morning or evening walk without leaving the premises. You and your guests may gather and socialize in the Presidio's numerous common areas, and then slip away to their detached guest suites for privacy.
This enchanting property and unparalleled beauty can be defined in three words - Presidio del Mar!

The Dead Sea is located near Jerusalem which is the ancient and capital city of Israel. The Dead Sea is popular for its salt and mineral quality. There are many spa resorts located on the sea shore which provide spa enriched treatments with natural minerals. Dead Sea hotels are usually fully booked in the summer as the beach is considered the best place to enjoy the holidays. Summers fall in July and August so if you are going to embrace the sea’s beauty avoid going during this period. It is however recommended to visit the Dead Sea during the month of November onwards. You can book hotels in a package deal through tour operators or over the Internet. However there is always an option of booking with the hotel directly over the phone or face to face.
There is a wide range of locations available near the Dead Sea. Leonardo Club Hotel is a 5-star hotel located along the beach. This property is well known for its fantastic restaurants and rooms. Health spas with mineral treatments are available, which is the special highlight of this hotel. Sauna facilities, Jacuzzi and private solariums add value to the money spent on your vacation here. Daniel Hotel is another 5-star property based along the sea shore. It is well-known for the stylish facilities within the hotel and spa facilities located on two floors. Guests, who prefer to spend more time in spas and rejuvenate themselves with mineral treatments, should opt for this hotel as the range of spas and treatments available here is limitless.
Le Meridien David at the Dead Sea is a 4-star hotel known for its location over the mountains and sea. Masada is only ten minutes away from this hotel and hence, is preferred by travelers who are looking to explore the archeological ruins in Israel. Prima Oasis is the next in line in the 4-star category. Crowne Plaza, Lot Hotel and Hod Hotel are some more on the list of Dead Sea hotels which accommodates thousands of tourists at the Dead Sea.

Boa Vista somehow has escaped mass tourism development in general terms. Which is incredible since the recipe is one of great year round weather apart from the windy season when the sand becomes painful on the beach! but cheap everything (getting around on the sand long distance is difficult and can cost) and friendly welcoming locals.
The most developed island is Sal much less so is Boa Vista, which is mostly made up of sand dunes and crystal clear waters and fabulous beaches. The sand nature of the island means though its only 20 miles from North to South its hard going and takes hours. The highest point is Pico d’Estancia, at only 390m high. Sal is 3 hours away by boat so its not a short hop. Sal Rei is the main town and port but is disappointing for the tourist. You should do your research and find a good resort, get a 4x4 with GPS or guide and explore to get the most out of your holiday here. The best beach is hard to get to called Santa Monica officially Praia Curralinho its a 20 mile slog in a 4x4 but its magnificent and interestingly unique.

The departure lounge for the Dubai flight smells like fake tan and desperation. While Dubai is a shiny beacon of hope in an arrid desert the passengers are just...... well shiny. Admitting to going on holiday to Dubai is a bit like owning a Phil Collins CD or owning stone washed jeans. Shameful. But its an allure that thousands of us cannot shake.

Sitting pretty on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coastline, the small village of Dominical and hence Dominical Beach the central america surfer’s paradise. Though not at all recommended for swimming there is also good scubadiving. Whales and turtles frequent the coast here and depending on the season this may be on the list of things to do. Watching turtles nesting is an amazing experience. Dominical has some great lodging options and is popular with backpackers. Its great to do Horse riding around here with the local fauna and flora while the sea salt permeates the air mixed in with eau de cheval :) Cao Island is a great place to dive and also do a day trip to this is close by.

You might not think that the desert is a great place to ride a horse but it is something you can do in Arizona. Get yourself on the back of an equine beauty and discover the desert.

This is taken in summer at Twin Lakes in Mammoth Lakes, California. A paradise, for hikers, fishermen or anyone that love the Sierras. I was out in a canoe nearing sunset for this image. This photo is also one I keep on my computer screen. Transports me away every day to a place I love. See it LARGE and float away to HEAVEN!
