North America Travel
North America is a vast and diverse continent that offers a wealth of travel opportunities for visitors. From bustling cities to natural wonders, there's something for everyone in North America. Here are five of the best things to see and do while traveling in North America:
- The Grand Canyon, Arizona
The Grand Canyon is one of the most iconic natural wonders in North America and a must-see for anyone visiting the region. This immense canyon was formed over millions of years by the erosion of the Colorado River and offers visitors breathtaking views of its rugged landscape. Visitors can hike to the bottom of the canyon, take a scenic drive along the rim, or take a helicopter tour for a unique perspective of this awe-inspiring site.
- New York City, New York
New York City is one of the most iconic cities in the world and a must-visit for anyone traveling in North America. This bustling city offers a wealth of cultural, historical, and culinary experiences for visitors, including the iconic Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Empire State Building. New York is also renowned for its nightlife, with a plethora of bars, clubs, and restaurants to explore.
- The Rocky Mountains, Colorado
The Rocky Mountains are a stunning mountain range that runs through the western United States and Canada. Visitors can hike in the mountains, go skiing or snowboarding in the winter, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views from the top of one of the many peaks. The Rocky Mountains are also home to a variety of wildlife, including bears, elk, and moose, making them a popular destination for wildlife watching.
- Toronto, Canada
Toronto is one of the largest and most vibrant cities in Canada and is a must-see for anyone traveling in North America. This cosmopolitan city offers a wealth of cultural and historical experiences, including the iconic CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the historic Distillery District.
It isn't any wonder that many people born in North America never leave; indeed they don't have to. Yes the cultural change would be a bit of a shock, but as rapidly as globalisation occurs, that is lessening each year. There are stunning beaches, architectural delights in metropolises such as New York or Toronto. Natural wonders like the Grand Canyon and national parks like Wyoming that will take your breath away. There are some of the worlds best ski resorts, and wildlife that will eat you!

Banff National Park is an incredible destination YEAR ROUND. In the summer you should try a game of Frisbee Golf take an Alpine Helicopter or do some Horse Riding. In winter its mostly about skiing and snowboarding. Banff has its own town centre which is North West of Canmore itself East of Calgary. Calgary is cowboy country and the prairies are nothing like the mountains which are the Rockies. There are some golf courses in Kananaskis Country the other side of Canmore. This place is picture perfect and it can be nice to explore some of the lakes around here. The Bow River is also beautiful. The nightlife in Banff is legendary with Bars and Pubs galore and nightclubs for the skiing crowd in winter. OOps sorry snowboarders. Jasper National Park is also close by whateevr time of yer whatever you like there will be something for you here. I have been in summer only and can't wait to get there for the winter and hit some slopes. You can find great deals for skiing in Canada and here there are 3 places Banff, Kicking horse and Sunshine.

San Miguel Allende is a small town about 275 km from Mexico City and 97 from Guanajuato in Mexico. It became an attraction for tourists due to the thermal springs and mainly because of the beauty of the colonial buildings. The temperature is nice all year around so you can also enjoy the outdoors activities such as paragliding and skydiving or just walk the city.
Also some cultural events such as the San Miguel Jazz Festival and the "Sanmiguelada", some sort of Spain's Pamplona Festival in a Mexican version... and restaurants and bars for evening/nights in the "city center".

California is the third largest state on the West Coast of the USA. It is nicknamed the 'Golden State' perhaps in part because of the gold rush but today its obviously wealthy in terms of the cities it houses and the glorious topography.Un-obviously the capital is Sacramento when you might imagine it to be San Francisco or Los Angeles. There are so many places of interest that you could just travel your whole life in California and not get bored apart from the culture you might miss staying in the one country though California is culturaly diverse. Due to a 'clerical error' California belongs to the United States ! It might have belonged to Mexico otherwise. California being so large has various climates but you might imagine that they cover the Mediterranean seasons across the year - Los Angeles has the worst smog and San Francisco is famous for fog, both are acceptable with ac.

I had somehow discovered LA as my first destination in the USA and in fact it was really my first destination outside England ! So it didnt really have to be anything other than different for me to be hooked on travel for a lifetime. I loved it and it was my first experience of the United States, so different to Miami which I found myself drawn to many years later.

We took a weekend break to new york, neither of us had ever been so how was it ?
I went with Brent a relatively new kiwi friend that I have worked with and knew him enough to feel that it would work out especially seeing as it was short enough that how bad could it be if it did get bad. Yes it was just a few days and via Chicago with American Airlines.
